Mar 14, 2012 - Last night we attended the Austin Music Awards, AND WON AUSTIN'S BEST PUNK ROCK BAND! It is so incredibly hard standing out in a scene with sooo many talented artists, and bands. I travel all over with Hell's Belles and there is no local music scene like Austin. And there is no scene without music fans who go out and see the music, pay the cover the bar.
On a sad note, a lovely goodbye to Leslie Cochran. When I first moved to Austin in 2002, he was already famous. Robin Williams was telling jokes about him in his stand up tour of 2001. He graced our shows at least twice; and my party nights downtown more thank I can count. I hope his departure doesn't mark a further fade to Austin's weirdness as the condos skyrocket around us and rents inevitably rise.
Our recent NW tour in Washington turned out really great. All of you fans showed up!! Thanks for not taking us for granted. We had such a great time reconnecting with friends and fans and meeting new ones. The attendance for Seattle BLEW ME AWAY!
Up ahead, we're working on the next album and it will be awesome. There's gonna be a couple songs on it that will KILL live and then there will be some songs on it that reside soley on the album. I really want this one to be an experience and not just song after song.
We're also opening for Lita Ford and Cinderella at this year's Rockin The Rivers in August.
